01
What you make is yours
You keep every right to the footage you import and the videos you export. Cutroom claims no ownership or licence over your projects, adds no watermark and puts no limit on how you use an export, for personal or commercial work.
You are responsible for having the rights to the material you edit, and for not using Cutroom to break the law where you live.
02
Editing is free
The editor itself costs nothing and needs no account. It runs in your browser, so it works as well as your device and browser allow; some features need a recent desktop browser with WebCodecs.
Projects are stored only in your browser. Cutroom cannot recover a project that the browser has cleared, so export work you care about.
03
AI effects are paid per use
Effects in the Studio tab run through the Deference gateway and are paid in INFERENCE from your own Deference account, per run, at the price shown before you start. There is no subscription.
A run that the gateway charges is final, including a run whose result you decide not to use. Model output can be wrong: check captions and translations before you publish them.
Your use of the gateway and of INFERENCE is also covered by the Deference terms at deference.si.
04
The software
Cutroom's source code is released under the MIT licence, which comes with the code along with the credits for the open source work it is built on. You may run, change and host your own copy under that licence.
Cutroom is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Adatama and Deference Works are not liable for lost work, lost footage or any damage arising from its use.
05
Changes
These terms may change as Cutroom does. The current version is always on this page, with the date below. Using Cutroom after a change means you accept the new terms.
